Word-Class University?

Commemorating 37^th Dies Natalist which appoints the theme “Empowerment of International Acceleration into World=Class University”, UNS gives new innovation in Social and Culture terms. The celebration this year is totally different with the previous year. UNS not only shows cultural performance like the previous year, but also  gives some contributions in social matter. Green Campus, UNS Sunday Market, and Go Green in Bengawan Solo River are the form of contribution UNS has given for Solo. However, those contributions are participated by few group of persons.

As we know, most of students think that there is no lecture activitiy during the celebration day. It can be the main problem why there are only few students following the events in the Dies Natalist. Furthermore, it is guessed as the middle-day between Sunday and Nyepi Day, making it suitable for the holiday. The lack of information also becomes the case.

Beside that, UNS seems to be not ready to go International. One of the facilities that should support the education activity has the unmanaged archives. It makes the students difficult to look for the book they want. In fact, it has been often worried by them. The problem must be advanced first before introducing it to international.

On the other hand, the great event are more various and innovative because it shows the potential of Sebelas Maret University. Some seminars and science fairs are held to proof that UNS has been ready to be World-Class University.

If all sites mainly for students support and participate in improving the educational quality, then the objective can be the reality. The attention of student in the movement to make it happen to be World-Class university.
